Hi, I’m Kate!
I’m a nurse, mother, community advocate, and former candidate for the Georgia State Senate. For nearly two decades, I’ve worked as a trauma nurse in Level 1 trauma centers, an experience that shaped how I think about people, institutions, and the systems we rely on when things go wrong.
I grew up as the oldest of five children in a military family. My dad’s career in the U.S. Army meant moving frequently, including five formative years in Germany. Eventually, I found my own path in healthcare, working in trauma and surgical intensive care at institutions including Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, and Intermountain Medical Center.
I now live in Avondale Estates, Georgia, with my husband, Jeb, and our three children. My experiences as a nurse, parent, and member of the community have increasingly drawn me into conversations about healthcare, education, affordability, good government, and the everyday challenges facing Georgia families.
In 2026, I ran for the Georgia State Senate. My campaign strengthened my belief that public service isn’t limited to holding office and that good government begins with listening, accountability, and a willingness to engage with people who don’t always agree. Those ideas continue to guide my work and my writing today.
